This was a disgustingly dirty place. I had to use the bathroom when we arrived after driving 4 hours. There was not a single roll of toilet paper in any of the stalls in their public bathroom. Then when got off the elevator on the 4th floor, I began to gag from the stench from the overflowing trash can. Got into our room and same thing, no toilet paper in the bathroom, no microwave or coffee maker as advertised. The staff was very nice and brought us a coffee maker. The outside grounds had trash, beer cans, and dog shit everywhere. All the landscaping is dead. THE PICTURES ONLINE DID NOT MATCH THE ROOM WE GOT. On second day, we found out that they had remodeled the rooms on the second floor. We asked to be moved. Staff was very accommodating. Although this room was better than what we were in, the vertical blinds were jacked up and did not provide total privacy. There was no remote for the TV. And the very large towel bar fell off the wall when I tried to hang a towel on it. This place is also being used to store people's junky cars, trailers and boats. We booked through hotels.com, the pictures are very deceiving.

There is quite a lot to say about my stay at Studio 6 on the Island. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful, which I imagine requires a certain emotional resilience when working inside a building that appears to be locked in an ongoing struggle with cleanliness. They’re doing the Lord’s work in a place that appears to have given up on itself sometime around the Bush administration. Unfortunately, that’s where the positive review ends. Upon entering the room, I was greeted by a décor theme best described as “post-crime-scene minimalism.” There were blood stains on the wall, the sheets, and the floor. Not faint suggestions of stains — the kind that make you pause and briefly consider whether housekeeping doubles as a forensic unit. Unfortunately, housekeeping had already left for the day. I was therefore presented with a rag and some spray from the front desk and spent the evening scrubbing a stranger’s blood off the walls like a particularly underpaid detective. The floors were made of black tile, which is convenient, because it allows years of accumulated dirt to blend together into one cohesive shade of despair. We were offered two other rooms. Both were somehow worse. The floors looked like they had been mopped exclusively with regret and lake water, the black tiles permanently stained with years of ground-in dirt. And then there were the roaches. Over the course of our five-day stay we killed approximately fifteen roaches, which suggests the property has developed a thriving ecosystem. That’s not a roach sighting — that’s a community. At one point housekeeping replaced the bedding and managed to smash a cockroach directly into the fresh sheets, leaving it there like a small crunchy garnish. The hallways looked like they had hosted several decades of spilled drinks, poor decisions, and spring break survivors. The carpets had stains that could probably qualify for historical preservation. We also mentioned at check-in that we were traveling with a toddler and hoped for a quiet room. On our last night a group of teenagers across several rooms held what sounded like a competitive shouting tournament beginning around 1 AM. After they quieted down, another group picked up where they left off around 2 AM. The front desk was informed at 3 AM, which produced roughly the same effect as informing a houseplant. The noise finally ended around 4 AM, just in time for my husband to wake up for work at 5:20 AM. Studio 6 does have potential in the same way a haunted house has potential — fascinating to observe, but not necessarily somewhere you want to sleep. If you’re looking for a place to stay in Lake Havasu that offers clean rooms, functioning housekeeping, or fewer than fifteen roaches, I would strongly recommend continuing your search. This hotel isn't worth a FREE stay. I am honestly baffled the health department hasn't stepped in and condemned the place. See roach family photos below.

Not bad, going with a grade of a solid B here. Yes the hotel is older, and it's also no Marriott, but no complaints. Room was clean, location really solid, great value here. Will stay again.
